The nine systems
29 articles

Quick references for each system's vocabulary — Human Design, Western, Ba Zi, Zi Wei, Numerology, Feng Shui, Qi Men, XKDG, Water.

The short answer: because they are answering different questions.

Each of the nine systems was developed in a different culture, era, and intellectual tradition — to answer different questions. Western astrology asks who are you, psychologically? Ba Zi asks what is your elemental balance and timing? Human Design asks how do you make decisions cleanly? They will sometimes describe the same person in opposing-sounding terms. That is not a bug; it is the point.

When systems genuinely conflict on a specific question (e.g. “is today a build day?”), the Architect will tell you which system to weight more heavily for the question at hand, and why. Look for the 4 of 9 agree chip on the Today screen — it summarises confidence at a glance.

Yes — most of your blueprint resolves without a precise time.

If you know your birth time within a 2–3 hour window, almost everything still computes correctly. The only fields that genuinely need exact time are: Ascendant (Western), Hour pillar (Ba Zi), and Qi Men hour selection.

Three options:

  • Use noon as a placeholder — we mark time-dependent fields as estimated.
  • If precision matters to you, birth-time rectification is a service some astrologers offer. Expect to pay roughly what a long consultation costs.
  • Provide a window (e.g. “between 2 and 5 AM”) and we compute a probability range.

One screen, two clicks, no friction. We promise.

Go to Settings → Billing → Manage plan → Cancel subscription. You keep access until the end of your current billing period. We don't ask why you're leaving (you can tell us if you want), we don't show retention offers, and we don't make you talk to anyone.

Re-subscribing later is also one click — your blueprint, calendar history, and Architect threads stay intact even on Free.

The minimum we need to compute your blueprint, and nothing else.

Required: your name, email, birth date, birth time (optional), and birth city. That's it for the blueprint itself.

Optional: a current city (for transit-based features), and what you tell the Architect (stored encrypted, only used to give you continuity in conversation).

We do not sell, share, or use your data to train external models. First-party analytics only — no Google Analytics, no Facebook pixel, no Hotjar. Your blueprint is encrypted at rest.

It's almost always a settings difference, not an error.

Two charts can disagree on planet positions because of: house system (Placidus vs Whole Sign vs Equal), zodiac (tropical vs sidereal), or ephemeris source. We default to tropical + Placidus + astronomy-engine, matching modern Western convention.

For Ba Zi, two apps can disagree on a Day Master if one uses solar-term boundaries and the other uses Gregorian month boundaries. We use solar terms — correct for traditional practice.

Yes. Settings → Birth data → Edit. Your blueprint regenerates in about 8 seconds.

We keep a versioned history of every change, so if you discover a typo months later (or finally find your birth certificate), you can restore the previous version with one click. Calendar events tied to the old data are flagged.

About 4 minutes if you have your birth details handy.

Five steps: name & email · birth date · birth time · birth city · a short calibration (“which of these rings true?”). Then your blueprint computes for ~8 seconds and you're in.

You can skip the calibration and add it later — it tunes the Architect's voice but isn't required.

30 days, no questions asked.

If you're within 30 days of any paid charge (monthly or yearly), email [email protected] from your account email and we refund within 3 business days. After 30 days we consider case-by-case — usually we prorate.

For annual plans, we strongly recommend trying the monthly plan first, or using the 7-day free trial.

Settings → Account → Delete. 30-day grace period, then permanent.

For 30 days you can restore by signing back in. After 30 days, your blueprint, Architect history, calendar events, and account record are irreversibly purged from production and replicated databases. Backups roll out within 90 days.

If you want a hard-delete with no grace period, email [email protected] — we process within 72 hours and send confirmation.

First check the status strip at the top of this page.

If The Architect shows degraded or down, we're already on it. If it's green and you're still stuck:

  • Hard refresh the app (Cmd/Ctrl + Shift + R)
  • Check the daily limit on your plan (Free: 3 a day · Seeker: unlimited · Visionary: unlimited)
  • Try a shorter, more specific question

If none of that works, drop us a line below with your account email — we trace the request log.

EU users in Frankfurt. US users in Virginia. Everyone else in Singapore.

We use managed infrastructure for primary storage with a hot replica in a second region of the same continent for disaster recovery. We never replicate cross-continent. EU users will not have data in the US, regardless of where you are travelling.

If you change residency, contact us — we migrate your record to the appropriate region.

Because the Chinese calendar is solar — month boundaries are astronomical events, not calendar dates.

The 24 solar terms (節氣) divide the solar year into 24 ~15-day segments based on the Sun's ecliptic longitude. This is what traditional Ba Zi practice uses, and it is why someone born February 3 might be in the previous year's pillar even though the Gregorian year already turned.

Apps that use Gregorian months are simpler to build but produce charts that traditional Ba Zi would consider incorrect.
