Reading your first blueprint, step by step

◆ 7 min readUpdated

A guided walkthrough of the five blueprint panels — what each number, sign, and element actually means in practice, without the jargon.

Start with the Today screen#

The Today screen is the fastest way to orient yourself in the app. It surfaces the three or four patterns that are strongest for you right now — not everything at once. Start here before you go deeper.

At the top you will see a one-line cosmic weather read: a plain-English sentence describing the quality of today. Below that, a row of chips shows which systems are currently aligned, and which are in tension. A 4-of-9-agree chip means 4 of the 9 systems point in the same direction.

If the Today screen feels overwhelming, close everything except your Western Sun sign and your Human Design type. Those two together cover roughly 60% of what the other systems will echo.

Blueprint panels — what each one is for#

Your Blueprint is organised into nine panels, one per system. They do not need to be read in order, and you do not need to read them all to get value.

  • Western Astrology — your psychological mirror (Sun, Moon, Ascendant, and dominant houses).
  • Human Design — your decision mechanics (Type, Strategy, Authority).
  • Ba Zi — your elemental balance and the year / month / day / hour pillars.
  • Numerology — your life path, expression, and soul urge numbers.
  • Feng Shui — your Kua number and auspicious / inauspicious directions.
  • Zi Wei Dou Shu — your structural destiny chart (long-form; skip until later).
  • Qi Men Dun Jia — hour-by-hour timing (power tool; skip until later).
  • Xuan Kong Da Gua — hexagram-based direction timing (advanced).
  • Water Formula — wealth-direction selection for Feng Shui (advanced).

Panels 1–5 are designed to make sense on a first read. Panels 6–9 are power tools that reward investment but are not required reading.

Reading conflicting signals#

Sometimes Western Astrology will say you are an intense deep thinker (Scorpio rising) and Human Design will say you are here to bring joy (Manifestor). Both are true. They describe different layers.

The Architect chat is built to help you navigate this: when two systems disagree, ask "which should I trust for this decision?" and it will tell you which authority applies to the question at hand, per the in-app synthesis priorities.

What to do next#

  1. Read only your top two panels today — do not try to read all nine.
  2. Come back tomorrow and check the Today screen again.
  3. After three days, ask the Architect one specific question about your life right now.
Most people over-read on day one and under-use on day seven. The app is designed for a slow burn — little and often beats one big deep dive.
