Meetings — especially negotiations, pitches, and difficult conversations — happen in a specific direction at a specific time. Both variables matter in Qi Men Dun Jia. The classical practice was to "activate" the favourable energy by physically traveling in the right direction at the right hour. Modern practitioners use the same logic for in-person meetings, video calls (tweaking direction by the counterparty's location), and pitch preparation.
Direction in the QMDJ chart
For face-to-face meetings, the relevant compass direction is from your starting point to the meeting location. For video calls, it is from your physical location to where the counterparty actually is. The palace in that direction tells you what the meeting will produce, energetically. A meeting into a Life Door + Heaven Heart star palace tends to be expansive and productive. A meeting into a Death Door + Heaven Pillar star tends to be stalled or extractive. Knowing this in advance lets you prepare differently — or reschedule.
Activating the favourable energy
Classical practice: take an "activating step" in the favourable direction within the chosen two-hour window. Travel to the meeting if possible. If the meeting is online, take a literal step in the counterparty direction at the start of the call. The activation is not magical — it is energetic intent expressed through embodied movement. Practitioners report consistently better outcomes when they remember to activate.
When the meeting time is fixed
You cannot always choose the meeting time. When fixed, generate the chart for the specific window and prepare around what you find. If the configuration is unfavourable, pre-load any concessions or asks that you do NOT actually need (the energy will pull them away from you regardless), and protect your real priorities by holding them through the meeting and circling back later in a better window. QMDJ does not change reality; it tells you the shape of the field you will negotiate inside.
