Vertex
A calculated point where the ecliptic meets the prime vertical in the west of the chart — often called the angle of fate.
What this means
It almost always falls in houses 5 through 8, and turns up highlighted in synastry and in charts for meetings that feel appointed rather than arranged. Modern practice reads it as a door other people open: activated by contact more than by intent.
