Twelve Growth Stages

The life cycle every element traverses through the twelve branches: Birth and Bath, Crown, Prime, and Peak, then Decline, Sick, Death, Tomb, and Void, closing with Embryo and Nurture — growth, flourishing, ebb, and gestation.

What this means

Ba Zi reads the Day Master's stage in a pillar or a day as its vitality there: the same stem is a different creature at Prime than at Tomb.

In practice

In K A X A N T A, twelve growth stages is one of the concepts The Architect cross-references when synthesising your reading. The ba zi engine surfaces it alongside seven other wisdom traditions so you can see how the same question reads through multiple lenses.
