Mercury Retrograde

The three-week stretch, three or four times a year, when Mercury appears to move backwards through the zodiac from Earth.

What this means

The planet never reverses; the two orbits overtake each other. Traditionally read as a time to revise, review and re-read rather than launch — contracts, travel and messages are where the misunderstandings cluster. In a natal chart, a retrograde Mercury describes a mind that works inward first and speaks second.

In practice

In KAXANTA, mercury retrograde is one of the concepts KAXANTA cross-references when synthesising your reading. The western astrology engine surfaces it alongside eight other wisdom traditions so you can see how the same question reads through multiple lenses.
