Short answer

There are 5 Human Design types: Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector. Each type has a distinct energy strategy and decision-making authority.

In depth

The five Human Design types describe how a person is designed to exchange energy with the world. They are determined by which centres in the BodyGraph are defined and how they interconnect — not by a personality test.

Generators (~70% of the population) have a defined Sacral Centre and respond to life through gut response. Manifesting Generators (~33% of Generators) are a sub-type of Generator with additional throat-to-motor connection, allowing them to act on response faster. Projectors (~20%) do not have a defined Sacral Centre and are designed to wait for invitation; they guide and direct rather than initiate. Manifestors (~9%) have a defined throat connected to a motor centre and are designed to initiate. Reflectors (<1%) have no defined centres and sample the lunar cycle before making major decisions.

Type determines Strategy (the correct way to engage with life) and Authority (where decisions come from in the body). These two together form the practical core of living your Human Design.
